The episode Hearth's Warming Eve felt weird with all of the festive Xmas decorations yet no where in the entire episode do they mention the name of the holiday. It also felt weird that this ideal of Christmas was about friendship and the founding of their nation instead of Celestia or some savior type figure. Is this what the real holiday could become in the near distant future? Even the carol felt weird for the holidays yet I kind of like it that way. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bq6UvXVinhg

It's said 3 times in the episode! By Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Applejack in that order.
Besides, I'd think it makes sense considering the story. The original founders thought "Hey, it's always cold at this time of year. We should tell the story of those monsters and the famine that being divisive caused to appear around this time so that it never happens again."
Plus Celestia already has a holiday; the Summer Sun Celebration.
Besides, our Christmas is almost completely secular already, except it is about giving all your money to corporations instead of friendship and harmony. I don't know one single person who celebrated it because of Jesus this year... just because "It's what we do this time of year".
